Why people buy the wrong speakers (and how to avoid it)

When you love music, you can't live with the best band in the world sounding like an orchestra of elves when you listen to it in your living room. You want the sound to be good, but unfortunately you have a problem.

The problem is finding speakers that are good enough. At System Audio, we are constantly reminded that we are part of an industry that is not particularly keen on helping its customers.

Other sectors are much better.

For example, your car has been thoroughly tested and has been awarded stars for safety. Your fridge has been rated for its power consumption. Your house has a condition report. Food has a keyhole label, and even a T-shirt costing DKK 25 has a label showing what it is made of and how it should be washed.

But when you're looking at a pair of plastic speakers for a few hundred dollars down at the mega-store, it's impossible to know if they're worth a single penny.

Because there is no such thing as a label that says something about sound.

There is no scheme that tells you what you get for your money. And rest assured that the mega-store won't help you choose, because sound is not on their agenda.

For them, a speaker is just a speaker.

Fortunately, there are testing magazines

They test all kinds of speakers and their experts make comparisons and tell it like it is.

We are incredibly proud that they have, for example, named our wireless speakers as Speaker of the Year.

They've done an updated test of wireless audio, and our speaker came out with 6 stars and the rating Specially Recommended.

Our wireless speakers have twice scored the grade "sehr gut" in Germany in Germany, which has placed them in the "Oberklasse". We are very happy about that.

A test in the USA concludesthat: "The SA saxo 5 active produced surprisingly refined and elegant sound". Fine words from the world's most pampered market.

Scandinavia's largest test magazine has voted our beautiful SA pandion 30 and gave it the top rating Specially Recommended.

SA pandion 30 is tested in the USA and we cheer at the sentence: "Their Facebook page says, Cool Scandinavian loudspeakers and I have to agree".

Cool, we think.

30 years under the critics' microscope

It's 30 years since we first plucked up the courage to let a reviewer write about our work.

We did not want to hide anything.

And we think it's fair that you see the experts' assessments of what we do.

In fact, we have created an overview on our website where you can see 152 reviews and test results.

Here's where you get scammed when buying speakers

What you need to do

You get great music experiences when you have great speakers. That's just the way it is.

Unfortunately, the mega-stores make a living selling useless plastic speakers, which are easy to mistake for proper quality, because speakers are just sold as speakers.

And you'll never know the difference until it's too late.

On the other hand, there are testing magazines and shopsthat care about good sound.

Believe me, it's worth visiting one of these shops.

They give you a chance to experience good speakers with your own ears.

Many of the shops may not be the biggest in the world, and they don't shout loudly like the mega-stores.

On the other hand, they know that great sound is everything to music.

Check out our website and enjoy the range of delicious award-winning speakers.
