Author Jan Poulsen spreads stardust when he gives his talks. He has met David Bowie, traveled with Dizzy Mizz Lizzy, and knows numerous music stars. But on Saturday he will be giving a talk at the Loudspeaker Factory.

This is the fifth time we are holding a record fair at the loudspeaker factory. And it is the fifth time Jan Poulsen is present throughout the event.

Meet him when the record fair opens at 10.00. Here you can have a chat and hear fascinating stories from the world of music.

Jan has his permanent place in the loudspeaker warehouse. In the center of it all. In the company of his books and people who love music.

Here's a good tip. Say hello to Jan and ask him: What's going on these days?

In doing so, you open the door to Jan's amazing world and his generosity in sharing it.

A conversation with Jan will enrich you with fun and seriousness.

But there is more.

At 12.15 Jan Poulsen will give one of his beloved lectures. This time it's about punk, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary in Denmark.

People listen intently when Jan talks

Jan was a punk himself

As a teenager, Jan Poulsen was part of the 70s punk scene in Copenhagen. He will talk about those exciting years, when many things were turned upside down.

He will talk about how the Danish punk scene differed from the scene in other countries, and he will of course play some of the first - and today very rare - Danish punk records.

Jan Poulsen has written the books 'Under En Sort Sol' about Sods/Sort Sol and 'Something Rotten!' about the whole scene from 1977-85.

Both books are out of print, but Jan Poulsen has saved the last copies for his visit to the record fair, where he is selling them at a special fair price.

Jan's talks always include examples of the music he talks about

Jan Poulsen on the birth of punk in Denmark

There was no mistaking the impact of punk on society in the latter half of the 1970s. The sound of the creative punch still reverberates.

Danish punk was born during the Sex Pistols' concerts in Copenhagen in July 1977, which included the four members of Sods. A few months later they took to the stage themselves, a few years later they changed their name to Sort Sol, and a few more years later they became a household name.

Early Danish punk was more than Sods. It was a series of young bands that wanted it differently and neither said "now" nor took no for an answer. The music was a highly explosive cocktail of rebellion, of words and sound and, not least, of attitude.
