50% More Power with the New DS Technology

Legend 60.2 silverback DS is the new and significantly upgraded flagship model in System Audio’s wireless, active Silverback speaker series.
With the DS upgrade, Legend 60.2 is not just fine-tuned – it has been elevated technologically and musically to a new level.

What is the DS upgrade?

DS stands for Digital Stream and is a comprehensive upgrade of the speaker’s digital platform.
Instead of changing the speaker’s physical components, System Audio has rethought the entire digital signal processing – the “brain” that controls the interaction between drivers, amplifiers, and the music signal.

The DS upgrade includes:

  • 50% higher power in the speaker’s four amplifiers
  • New digital algorithms that work significantly faster than before
  • A simplified and extremely pure signal path
  • More precise control over all the speaker’s drivers
  • A more linear frequency response and a more natural sound image

The result is a sound that feels bigger, more open, and more present – with better timing, better dynamics, and a calmness that brings you closer to the music.

What does DS mean for Legend 60.2 silverback?

In Legend 60.2 silverback DS, the advantages of the DS platform truly come into their own.

In addition to the new digital signal processing, the DS upgrade also has a direct impact on the speaker’s power:

50% more amplifier power

Legend 60.2 silverback has four built-in amplifiers, and with the DS version, these amplifiers now deliver 50% more power than before, resulting in:

  • Significantly greater dynamic headroom
  • Better control at both low and high volumes
  • More authority in the bass range
  • Even more effortless performance in large rooms

The extra power works hand in hand with the new DSP, giving the speaker both more power and more finesse – without compromising on precision or musicality.

Pure digital signal path

The DS platform is designed to function as a single integrated system.
When Legend 60.2 silverback DS is used with Stereo Hub HT or Surround Hub, music is streamed in high resolution directly from the music service all the way to the speaker’s amplifiers – without conversion, compression, or processing along the way.

The only analog conversion occurs at the output of the speaker’s own amplifiers.
It is this uncompromising approach that gives the DS sound its characteristic combination of purity, dynamics, and musicality.

Legend 60.2 silverback DS – the flagship, fully utilized

With the DS upgrade and 50% more amplifier power, Legend 60.2 silverback is not only System Audio’s most ambitious wireless speaker – it is also the most controlled and dynamic to date.

Can existing owners upgrade?

Yes! The Silverback platform is developed with longevity in mind, and existing owners of Legend 60.2 silverback can upgrade to DS in various ways.

The DS upgrade is delivered as a complete system upgrade including a new Stereo Hub HT, so the entire signal path is optimized for the DS platform.

What does upgradable technology represent?

Legend 60.2 silverback DS represents a new generation of products where technology is no longer static, but dynamic and software defined. The DS upgrade (Digital Stream) means that the speaker’s sound and functionality are largely determined by digital signal processing (DSP) and software, rather than just physical components.

It represents a shift away from the classic hi-fi mindset, where sound systems were hardware-defined and static, to a modern approach where the listening experience can be improved and adapted continuously through software updates.

This philosophy entails:

  • The product is never “finished,” but is upgraded and improved over time.
  • The listening experience can be tailored to the individual user and the acoustics of the room.
  • Integration with digital ecosystems and streaming is fundamental.
  • Usability and experience are valued equally.

What does it mean for you as a user?

Upgradable technology means that you are investing in a system that can evolve with your needs and technological developments:

  • Ongoing improvements: You can upgrade your speaker with new software and firmware, which can provide better sound and new features. For example, existing owners of Legend 60.2 silverback can upgrade to the DS platform and thus gain access to significantly higher amplifier power, faster digital algorithms, andmoreprecise and natural sound.
  • Personal adaptation: The system can adapt to your room, your listening habits, and your preferences, so you always get the best possible experience – whether you play at low or high volume, or wherever you are in your home.
  • Futureproofing: You do not need to replace your entire system to keep up with technological developments. Upgrades can bemade digitally, and new features are added over time.
  • Ease of use: The focus has shifted from technical tinkering to simple operation and integration into everyday life. You get a system that is easy to use and fits into a modern, wireless lifestyle.
