Music at the heart since 1984

…but the journey began somewhere entirely different: in the world of music.
By Ole Witthøft, founder.
In 1984, I founded System Audio because, as a musician, I was frustrated that the loudspeakers of the time were built out of fascination with technology but were musically uninspiring. I wanted to create speakers that could reproduce music in a lively, emotional, and natural way. My vision was clear: the listening experience is more important than anything else.
Ole Witthøft, founder of System Audio.
There were no loudspeakers that could reproduce music in a vivid way. Most sounded dull and unnatural… I wondered why speakers competed on technical specifications when it’s the sound that matters.
It all started with the compact loudspeaker System 2, which was praised by the press as a new standard. Today, System Audio is part of people’s homes, studios, and professional environments around the world. I still lead the development and insist that we must continue to explore new paths – both technologically and acoustically.
To me, sound is not about numbers – it’s about emotion. When we develop loudspeakers, our goal is to bring you closer to the artist’s intention, the producer’s soundscape, and the craftsmanship of the instrument maker. You should be able to hear and feel the subtle nuances: the warm tone of wood, the crisp air between notes, and the intimate atmosphere of a vocal performance.
We work to ensure that you can experience musicality in its purest form. Our speakers are not just about playing sound – they are about conveying the soul of the music.
I’m proud that System Audio has received EISA Awards four years in a row for our wireless Silverback series – one of the most prestigious honors in the audio industry. The series combines advanced technologies and design with high-quality wireless streaming.
The incredibly influential French review magazine DIAPASON has, for the second time, awarded Silverback the prestigious Diapason d’Or gold medal.
At System Audio, we see design as part of the experience. It’s not just about aesthetics – it’s about functionality in the real world. Our speakers are created to fit naturally into the home, without drawing attention away from the listening experience.
The design should support the music, not distract from it.
We believe in universal design, where form and function go hand in hand. The design should support the music, not distract from it. That’s why we work with slim, elegant shapes and materials that are both beautiful and acoustically effective.
System Audio’s design is the result of close collaboration between acousticians and engineers – with one shared goal: to create speakers that both sound and look fantastic.
System Audio products have evolved over more than four decades, always with the same goal: to create powerful experiences, immersion, and enjoyment – for everyday life and celebration – and always with respect for the music.
The future is wireless.
