When we shop in the supermarket, we want to know what the products are made of.

For example, are there tomatoes in the ketchup?

Has the chicken gone free?

Are the apples sprayed?

And so on.

We want to know if the manufacturer of the product has the same interests as us.

But people who buy speakers never ask the simple question:

Who made the sound in those speakers?

Who is responsible for the sound that will deliver my music for the next 10-12 years?

Is it an old hippie who used Shu-Bi-Dua to trim the sound into place?

Or maybe a 62-year-old who loves Led Zeppelin and could never bring himself to listen to any of those artists,

you care about?

The point is, you have no idea.

Speakers costing thousands are sold with less information about the product's origins than when you buy a chicken in the supermarket.

I don't think it's OK to be so unambitious. It can be done better.
