TS1 (1)

Correct angle, better sound

What do you do if your centre speaker lies flat on your AV furniture, projecting great sound to your knees but not your ears? You buy the smart TS1 table stand and adjust the angle of your centre speaker.

The TS1 stand is simple and infinitely variable. Revolve the stand to set the angle of your centre speaker. When you find an angle that points your speaker directly towards your seat, tighten the bolt in the middle of the stand, and you're ready to go. Improving the sound from your centre speaker really is as easy as that.

412 grammes of cast aluminium

TS1 is made of aluminium and is solid enough to cope with any centre speaker that will fit on it. With a diameter of 13 cm, it suits most centre speakers, and its eight silicon feet ensure that the speaker is well positioned and stable.

Clearer dialogue

One of a centre speaker's most important jobs is to reproduce film dialogue. It is, of course, essential for your enjoyment of a film that the actors are clearly audible. TS1 makes a huge difference to dialogue sound quality.

Measurements show that a treble speaker only sounds as good as possible if you sit just in front of the speaker

Why TS1 works

A technical explanation

The illustration opposite shows the performance of an ordinary treble speaker at different angles. A treble speaker is responsible for, among other things, the quality of the speech reproduction. The blue measurement is taken just in front of the treble speaker. The green measurement is taken at a 30-degree angle from the treble speaker, and the red measurement at a 60-degree angle. Only the blue measurement features an even and uniform sound level from the treble speaker. At 30 and 60 degrees, several dB will be missing and the sound will be dark and 'mumbled'. You lose 6-8 dB of sound information when the angle of your centre speaker is just 30 degrees out. In layman's terms, that's more than half of the treble speaker's sound, and your surround amplifier may not be able to regulate the gradual loss of treble. This is why the TS1 stand presents an ideal opportunity to get the best out of your centre speaker.
