concept with four 4" woofers and a 1" tweeter. We have refined the materials and technologies
continuously for more than 10 years and today the SA mantra 50 is the most perfectly balanced 50 model we have ever made.
The man and the mantra
System Audio A/S was founded in 1984 by Ole Witthøft because he could not find any loudspeakers that could fulfill his requirement to feel close to the artists when listening to music at home.
He had discovered that loudspeakers must be constructed and designed according to a system after which the company is named.
Reduction as a design philosophy
SA speakers begin their life on Ole's table. Some of the world's leading experts in acoustics, mechanics and electronics are involved in product development, and a new speaker only goes into production when everyone is happy with it.
One of Ole's philosophies is about reduction. Put another way: the importance of focusing on the essentials. On the outside of the speaker, you see reduction as an absence of embellishments and frills.
Inside the speaker, you see the reduction as an obvious simplicity of construction. It's also reduction that drives us to reduce the weight of the moving mass of our loudspeaker elements, because it makes for better sound.
Reducing the speaker's dependence on the acoustics of the living room is also a way of using philosophy. Making things complicated is a waste of the user's resources. Simplification in every little detail optimizes the experience.
